Electronic Whiteboard Softwares

In my blog last week, I talked about the Electronic Whiteboards from the hardware side. Today, we will look at the most important tool during the operation of the Electronic Whiteboards, software.

As I mentioned in the blog before last, Electronic Whiteboards can also be called Interactive Whiteboards (IWB) due to its interactivity. Actually, people are more used to calling them Interactive Whiteboards. Users are more likely to consider the IWB as a computer screen rather than just a whiteboard. Software can be demonstrated on the IWB for users to run and interact with. There are numerous kinds of whiteboard software but they have one thing in common that contains whiteboard drawing sheets and some drawing tools.

Here I'm gonna introduce an IWB software "Open Sankore" for you as an example.

Open Sankore is the first full featured IWB software available in open source which contains lots of drawing editing tools. It has many basic tools like colorful pen, line, eraser, etc. It can also insert pictures, video, animation for making interactive classes. Users can set its background in four different shapes. Click on the following video for the basic navigation. All of the mouse actions in the video can be completed by users' fingers on the IWB.

This software can also help users to import files and save copies of their work as a PDF. Besides, you can use the inbuilt screen recording to record the presentation which is significant to teachers. More gadgets showed in the video below:
