Virtual Museum of Iraq

Iraq is honored as the birthplace of civilization through a virtual museum featuring 70 of the antiquities on display at the Iraq National Museum in Baghdad. This virtual museum, or wen can say the multimedia exhibit was developed by Italy’s Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (National Research Council) with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It contains numerous images, movies, maps and timelines in 7 different halls designed to be explored.
When you click the link below, you will find that there are three languages you can choose on the front page. They are Italian, English and Arabic. After choosing the language, an introduction video will show you the timeline of the Iraq Museum. The mysterious music will bringing you the feeling of being in Iraq. After enjoying the introduction, you will find 7 halls to choose. All of them display different kind of exhibits which demonstrate the history of Iraq vividly.
"The Virtual Museum does not aim to reproduce the original structure and set up of the real museum, it is a communication project built to know the principal stages of historical and cultural development of Mesopotamia through archeological artifacts and sites. Interactive functions and various user format are combined into a user-friendly interface in order to make the Virtual Museum of Iraq an instrument to explore, to know and to preserve Iraq cultural heritage despite of war and violence."
